SHIFT BODY & MIND

HOW: PILATES | BUDOKON & SYNERGY YOGA | KINESIOLOGY | DORN METHOD

WHERE it began. My passion for sharing movement was ignited after spending 14 years collectively in Advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy South Africa, the hours were crazy, the socials legendary and self care definitely was not a high priority. It became glaringly evident that this kind of life was not sustainable and I ventured into an exploration in the field of ceramic functional art to find solace for my soul. I knew however that I needed to start taking better care of my body. Ceramics was a creative outlet but for health and wellbeing I needed to explore movement & nutrition.

WHY I felt the need to achieve greater overall balance. It was almost instinctual -

something I had known in my body growing up, spending time climbing trees and riding my bike through the gloriously sunny days, eating whole food straight from the garden and preserves from my gran's kitchen.

HOW I discovered Pilates and the beautiful canvas of sculpting the human body in 2006. I was fascinated how Pilates could change my body. I enjoyed the gymnastic and strength training aspect to this and always felt amazing after a session. The true value of this form of movement become most evident after a car accident where it was a life saver in rehabilitating debilitating whiplash. This stuff was too good not to share!

I obtained my BASI Pilates Mat and Equipment Cert in 2010 and have been teaching and learning ever since. Yoga was a natural progression to include a mindfulness practice into my movement repertoire. Synergy Hatha Yoga, Budokon Yoga and Budokon Mobility has been the two main styles of yoga I adore and love sharing due to the fluid nature of the movements and considered postures to aid in joint mobility and overall health.

THE CALLING In Studio I soon realised just having the ability to share a particular form of movement was not enough. Working with the physical and specifically muscle imbalances and injury rehabilitation lead me to the mental/neurological aspect of movement and behavioural patterns. On this road of discovery I found some answers in Metaphysics, Quantum Physics, Kineseology & Dorn Method/Breuss Massage.

More specifically the incredible healing modalities in Kinesiology ranging from Touch for Health to Neuro-Training and Emotional Kinesiology and Dorn Method skeletal alignment coupled with Breuss Massage perfectly complements my repertoire in offering clients the opportunity to be their best selves and for their minds and bodies to support them on this journey.

MY MISSION to shift bodies and minds through movement. Helping those with a thirst for life reach their full potential mentally and physically. Working with corporate and individuals on their journey to health & wellbeing.
